A clean start

The 1st Round Rockall Race got off to a clean start in ideal conditions at 20:00 hrs on Galway Bay. Sunshine, a fresh breeze and a calm sea ensured competitors and spectators enjoyed a very pleasant evening. Many thanks to all the yachts and motor-cruisers who came out to wish the competitors well and everyone who helped out in any way. A special word of thanks to Galway Harbour Master Capt. Brian Sheridan for facilitating us this evening, and to Mr. John Coyle for the use of his “Arctic Fern” as committee vessel. Finbar O'Regan of Bow Waves also came to our aid, again – thank you Finbar!
